Where should I visit next in #LD36?
Happy summer! I hope you and your family are staying safe during the most recent COVID surge and the unprecedented heatwave we have experienced.
Since the legislature adjourned in April, I have prioritized getting out and about in the 36th district. I’ve met with dozens of organizations and businesses from Ballard and Queen Anne to Magnolia and Belltown including the Port of Seattle at Fisherman’s Terminal, KEXP radio station, Interbay Tiny House Village, the National Guard Readiness Center and more. I can’t think of a better way to spend time out of session than meeting with constituents and hearing what’s on their mind.
And I’ve been keeping track of my visits using an online map – with pictures! See where I’ve been by clicking the map below.
Following 2020’s ten-year census, the entire country is in the process of redistricting. We know the boundaries of the 36th Legislative District will change, but we won’t know how until later this fall. This means I may have a very different constituent base. Which is why I need your help.
Will you take a look at the map and tell me what’s missing? If you have a suggestion on where I should go next, tweet at me using the hashtag #36thSpots. And as long as it’s in or around the 36th, we can add it to our list. Who knows, it may end up being in the new district!
I hope you enjoy these last days of summer.
